Summer Speaker Series – FLORIDA WILDLIFE

July 12th, 2025 | Doors Open at 10 am | FREE to Attend

We’re excited to welcome author, researcher, and cave explorer Sandra Poucher for a special presentation as part of our Summer Speaker Series. A native of Florida’s Gulf Coast, Sandra has explored and surveyed caves throughout Florida, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Her writing and photography have been featured in Underwater Speleology and NSS News, and she is the author and illustrator of ‘A Field Guide to the Critters and Wildlife of Florida’s Springs.

In addition to her scientific and literary work, Sandra is also an amazing wildlife artist, known for capturing the beauty of Florida’s natural world. Her artwork is available for purchase at The Brick, a gallery in downtown Ocala operated by the Marion Cultural Alliance, a nonprofit supporting local artists.

Sandra will speak about Florida critters, the writing process, and more – plus answer your questions! This is a great opportunity to engage with a leading voice in Florida’s natural history and cave exploration community.

Additional museum entry is $2 (free for kids under 6). State Park admission fees also apply.
